The Herkimer Home's history is rooted in environmental science. Generations of New Yorkers contributed to and benefited from the Mohawk Valley's unique natural ecosystems. Educational awareness, knowledge, and skill-training through educational programming provides visitors the tools to improve their community.
At the core of our focus on environmental science is our new Living Laboratory. Designed as an educational tool for local participants to actively study environmental science on the grounds of the Herkimer Home, the Living Laboratory will provide hands-on educational opportunites.
