Hello Friends! 

If you live in Herkimer, Ilion, Frankfort, Little Falls, and Mohawk, you have received in the last few weeks the first edition of the Valley Life Magazine. Danielle Vickery is the editor of this publication that aims to "inform..entertain... and keep you up-to-date with everything that is going on..." in the valley. I will be contributing a monthly column to this magazine that focuses on local historic sites (some known and others not so much) in the Mohawk Valley and their meaning to generations of New Yorkers. 

Along with this article, the magazine is packed with other local news tidbits and features on items related to the Valley. For example, the featured article in January's edition is a piece written by Ms. Vickery on the role of colonial Mohawk Valley in a new video game that has been released.

Out of town visitors to the Herkimer Home often comment on how rich and inspiring the history of this region is. I couldn't agree more. I hope this publication will not only serve to inform but also provide some enjoyment and inspiration in your own lives in 2013.
